Proposed $13.8 billion bill focuses on water, sewers

A House committee has approved the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, which would loan states $13.8 billion over five years. The bill includes $1.8 billion for sewer overflow control grants and gives $250 million to alternative water sources projects. The Great Lakes Legacy Act, which removes contaminated sediment from the lakes, will also receive $750 million.
