TV campaign aims to shape perception of LGBT couples, families

Equality California is deploying a TV campaign to educate the public about LGBT people and their families because the group has realized in the wake of the Proposition 8 loss that it's better strategy to try to inform voters on a hot-button issue when it's not on the ballot, writes Jonathan Rauch. "Our strategic message, with its appeal to love and commitment and inclusion in the American dream and of course fairness, is a formidable weapon, when unholstered," he writes.
