Fed officials lean toward an abrupt end to bond-buying program

Policymakers at the Federal Reserve have indicated that rather than gradually withdrawing the central bank's intervention in the bond markets, they favor abruptly shutting down its $600 billion asset-purchase program. "I don't see a lot of gain to reverting to a tapering approach," said Atlanta Fed President Dennis Lockhart.
