Should Virginia's schools require more physical education?

Virginia Gov. Robert F. McDonnell is considering whether to sign legislation that would increase the amount of time dedicated to physical education in kindergarten through eighth-grade. This Washington Post columnist supports the legislation, citing teachers' concerns that children are not getting enough exercise. However, educators also are worried that other courses, such as music, would be sacrificed to free up more time for physical education.
