$3 billion initiative to fund community-living options

A $3 billion initiative has Medicaid officials providing new matching grants for states to increase community-living opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The first funds distributed under the Balancing Incentive Program, which is part of the federal Affordable Care Act, will go to New Hampshire, officials said. "These new grants will help states like New Hampshire give people with long-term care needs the choice about how and where to live their lives," said Cindy Mann, who oversees the federal Medicaid program.
