Social media network for the classroom to offer third-party apps

The K-12 social tool Edmodo will expand its platform to include third-party mobile applications, the startup announced Tuesday. The arrangement will make apps -- from a simple virtual graphing calculator to a multi-player social math game -- available to teachers and their students for a cost ranging between $10 and $100.
