Boeing comments on cybersecurity protections for new aircraft

A new generation of aircraft, such as the Boeing 787, face a greater cyberthreat than older aircraft. Panelists at an aviation security conference discussed the risks of in-flight Wi-Fi and other data uplinks and downlinks. Michael Garrett, director of aviation security in the commercial airplanes division of Boeing, says the company has plans to protect the 787 and the 747-8 from cyberthreats.
