Ky. law makes it easier for some patients to get pain drugs

Democratic Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear signed into law a measure to make it easier for patients with terminal illnesses, along with those in hospitals and nursing homes, to get needed pain medication. State Senate President Robert Stivers, a Republican, called the measure "a common-sense approach" to ensure there is no diversion of prescription pain drugs or drug abuse while providing pain relief.
