Appetizers, sides drive more dining decisions, survey says

Nearly half of diners are less likely to order an entree if they don't like the side dish that comes with it, according to a new Technomic survey that highlights the growing importance of starters and sides in the age of snacking. Some 52% of respondents say they share their starters. Small plates are ordered as appetizers by 38% of respondents, while 30% say they're the meal.
