Architect on floating buildings, 3D modeling, sustainability

Inhabitat interviews architect Koen Olthuis of about designing "aqua-tecture" and unique floating buildings as part of what he calls "sustainaquality," which he defines as "the search for new ways to increase sustainable developments." Olthuis discusses his use of 3D modeling technology to develop projects such as the floating mosque in the United Arab Emirates. He says working with 3D technology "sometimes generates possibilities and shapes that we didn't deliberately think off."
