Massachusetts Officials Mull Proposal To Include MCAS Scores On Transcripts

The state Department of Education is seeking public comment on a proposal to include students' MCAS scores on their high school transcripts. The Board says the exam scores could be valuable to colleges and employers because the exams measure students' grasp of the state's curriculum. Opponents say the plan would be a misuse of MCAS scores, which were originally intended to measure students' weaknesses.
