Trans-Texas Corridor to feature 4,000 miles of mostly toll roads

In true Texas style, the state is planning a massive, futuristic new highway system that will consist of 4,000 miles of mostly toll lanes. The $185 billion Trans-Texas Corridor is being built with mostly private money over the next 50 years and, in addition to cars, trucks and trains, the system will carry pipelines for water, oil, natural gas, electricity and fiber optics.
