EHR plan could improve patient privacy, but some doubtful

A plan by the Nationwide Health Information Network to allow patients to control who sees their electronic health records on the network could be a tremendous step toward improving patient privacy, said Dr. Robert Kolodner, interim national coordinator of health information technology. But at least one expert says he doubts if the plan would make a difference.
