FDA approves five new uses for Lipitor

The FDA approved five additional indications for Pfizer's blockbuster cholesterol drug, Lipitor. The drug now may be used for reducing the risk of nonfatal heart attacks, fatal and nonfatal strokes, some heart surgery, hospitalization for heart failure, and chest pain in heart disease patients.
