Hormel calls for longer-term immigration initiative

Hormel Foods Corp., producer of Spam luncheon meat and Dinty Moore canned stew, supports the development of an immigration plan that would allow foreign workers to remain in the U.S. for longer periods. A guest-worker program that would allow stays of several years has been discussed by federal legislators, but Hormel CEO Jeffrey Ettinger says a longer-term plan is needed.
