Senate panel hears estimates of imports' effect on drug prices

Drug prices would decline if foreign imports were allowed, but not to the levels that some advocates claim, a pharmaceutical economist told a Senate subcommittee. Importing drugs would push down U.S. prices by 12% to 20%, said the University of Minnesota expert.
