United Nations targets world's e-waste

The United Nations has rolled out a public-private partnership involving several big high-tech companies aimed at reducing the world's soaring amount of trashed computers and other electronics and electrical waste. The project's goals include making products last longer, improving the market for used products and establishing an international recycling standard.
