Sinopec-BASF joint venture becomes China's leading chemical producer

BASF-YPC, a joint venture between Chinese refiner Sinopec and German chemical major BASF, will get a $1.4 billion investment to expand its Nanjing facility in China, where it plans to produce specialty chemicals for a variety of industries. "We will be able to help our customers in China make their industries, businesses and homes more energy-efficient," said Johnny Kwan, board chairman at BASF Greater China.
