Air Force launches robotic space plane

The Air Force launched an experimental robotic space plane into orbit on Saturday on a classified, 270-day mission that is being kept largely under wraps. The unmanned X-37B plane was launched from Cape Canaveral, Fla., on board the 19-story Atlas V rocket. The Air Force has said only that the vehicle will test new technologies in outer space.
