Packaged Facts sees growth in sales of gluten-free products

Sales of gluten-free food and drinks increased by a compound annual rate of 30% between 2006 and 2010, reaching $2.64 billion, according to Packaged Facts. Factors included greater awareness of celiac disease, which is still "staggeringly underdiagnosed," according to the researcher, as well as a perception that gluten-free food is healthier and of higher quality.
