California airport upgrades security fence

California's Palm Springs International Airport is spending $3 million to replace worn fencing around the edge of the airport's property. “It was old and worn fencing that required replacement and upgrades in order to enhance the integrity of the airport,” Airport Director Tom Nolan said. “I would say the parts we're addressing are probably decades old.” The new fence will incorporate security cameras and perimeter intrusion control equipment.
