Eco-friendly farmers are selling themselves short, study finds

Consumers would typically be willing to spend $5 extra to buy a $30 cotton shirt that was made using sustainably farmed cotton, according to researchers at the University of Missouri-Columbia. That's an important finding because many U.S. cotton manufacturers are already using sustainable practices, but aren't communicating that effectively to consumers, the researchers note.
