A young eagle found grounded because his feathers were covered with ice from freezing rain was successfully treated by veterinarians at the University of Prince Edward Island's Atlantic Veterinary College and released. Rain can create an ice layer on eagles' feathers fairly quickly in certain conditions, leaving the birds unable to fly and seek food.
