NYC Council airs gripes about year-old grading system

Even many "A" graded restaurants have gripes about the consistency and fairness of New York City's year-old letter-grade system for health inspections, members of the city council said in a public meeting Wednesday. While the system is working -- salmonella cases have dropped 13.5% -- restaurant owners say inspectors need better training and education to do the job properly.
