Report: Boeing concluded 787 battery fires would be extremely rare

The National Transportation Safety Board released an interim report Thursday about the 787 Dreamliner battery issues. However, the 48-report did not identify a cause for a January fire. Boeing had considered "the probability that a battery could vent was once in every 10 million flight hours," the report says.
