Tablets top smartphones in Internet traffic volume

Tablets account for 8% of all Internet traffic globally, topping smartphones, at 7%, for the first time, according to Adobe's latest Digital Index. Form factor is the key for tablets, as smartphones are in many more consumer hands, says index analyst Tyler White. "Whether it be leisurely surfing the Web, engaging with video, or shopping online, on average internet users view 70 percent more pages per visit when browsing with a tablet compared to a smartphone," White wrote.
