HHS should ease limits on telehealth, group says

The American Telemedicine Association has called on HHS to grant flexibility in telehealth use to Medicare providers being paid under alternative payment models, saying telehealth adds value for Medicare and its patients. In a letter to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the group has recommended that HHS and the CMS waive telehealth restrictions on accountable care organizations and permit telehealth for remote monitoring of patients who cannot leave their homes.
