India looks to build own military equipment, minister says

As India's economy continues to grow, the country would like to build more of its own weaponry. "A growing India still depending on foreign companies for a substantial part of our defense needs is not a happy situation,” said A. K. Antony, defense minister. India has around $39 billion of military equipment on order from Russia.
