The conviction of Martha Stewart on Friday afternoon sent Kmart executives scrambling to answer questions about the future of the company's "Martha Stewart Everyday" brand of housewares, a line that earns $1.5 billion annually and accounts for more than 5% of all Kmart revenue. Some analysts cautioned Kmart to go slow, saying sales of the brand have remained strong throughout the controversy, while customers interviewed at Kmart stores this weekend near Detroit confirmed that "I'm not buying her, just her products," one shopper said.
