Men in short supply in Australia's primary education classes

As the new 2006 academic year ramps up in Australia, Melbourne University's first-year teacher enrollments for the primary education degree are overwhelmingly female. University of Western Sydney education expert Peter West says that since children spend 13,000 hours in school, they need exposure to both male and female role models.
