Group urges repeal of sprinkler rule

A group representing architects wants North Carolina to repeal a building code standard requiring sprinklers in clubs, restaurants and school cafeterias that seat as few as 100 people. The American Institute of Architects says the requirement increases costs with little increase in safety and that builders can add fire safety with more doors and lighting.
