Hurricane risk will increase in 2007, Munich Re says

The unfavorable natural climate cycle and the effects of global warming will increase the risk of hurricanes in 2007 and into the future, according to a report by Munich Re. "We have no doubt that climate change and growing concentrations of values will boost demand for insurance cover in the long run," says Dr. Torsten Jeworrek, a Munich Re board member. He says the reinsurer has incorporated the findings into its risk management strategy.
