California calculus teacher gets results

A California math teacher recently became one of 50 educators to win the 2009 Siemens Award for Advanced Placement, which goes to teachers dedicated to students and the Advanced Placement program. Sam Calavitta's dedication also is demonstrated by results. Of his 81 students, 69 scored a perfect 5 on the AP calculus exam, and the average score among his students was a 4.79.
