Airlines' customer service workers roam terminals with hand-helds

In an effort to reduce congestion at counters, American Airlines has expanded a program started at Boston Logan airport in July in which employees with hand-held mobile devices roam through terminals to help passengers get flight information, access standby lists and check bags. The program has been expanded to Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami and New York JFK, and United Airlines has launched a similar program.
