Fla. district moves closer to hiring teacher mentors, evaluators

More than 600 educators have applied for 116 positions as teacher mentors and evaluators in Florida's Hillsborough County schools. Selected mentors will undergo training and be out of the classroom for as long as three years while they work to improve teaching through evaluation and training. The new positions are part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation education-reform plan.
