Food manufacturers begin to use alternatives to corn sweeteners

Kraft and other packaged-food and beverage companies have begun replacing high fructose corn syrup with more natural sweeteners in response to growing consumer demand. Archer Daniels Midland, a company that manufactures high fructose corn syrup, said U.S. volumes of the product have declined, but it hopes to regain sales in foreign markets including Mexico.
