How to avoid hot-work accidents

Welding and other hot-work accidents are among the leading causes of worker deaths, but they can be avoided if proper precautions are taken, say Chemical Safety Board officials. Hazard assessments and gas-monitoring procedures can help identify potentially flammable gases, and are especially important when workers are welding near gas-storage tanks, the CSB notes in a new safety bulletin.
