Nanotube discovery sheds light on potential new source of electricity

03/8/2010 | PhysOrg.com

A recently discovered phenomenon in which powerful waves of energy are thrust through carbon nanotubes could potentially lead to a new means of producing electricity, according to a study. Researchers at MIT say the phenomenon, known as thermopower, could possibly have applications such as allowing tiny electric devices to be injected into the body, or for tiny environmental sensors to "be scattered like dust in the air."
