Nutrition is part of the curriculum in some Pittsburgh schools

More Pittsburgh educators are using the Food is Elementary curriculum to teach students about the value of nutrition and making healthy food choices. The program includes lesson plans that are each based on a multicultural, vegetarian recipe that incorporates aspects of math, science, geography and history. The program was developed by a Cornell University professor and has been used in some 2,000 schools nationwide.
