Cable grease damages fabric of BC Place's retractable roof

Some cables that support the retractable roof at the BC Place stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, have leaked oil and grease onto the roof fabric due to warm weather, said Duncan Blomfield, the stadium's communication manager. The lubricants are needed to allow the cables to move smoothly, but damage to the fabric could cost about $1 million to repair.
