Empanadas on the menu at San Francisco eateries

A growing number of San Francisco-area restaurants have put empanadas on the menu, nearly a decade after Chile Lindo's new owners introduced the South American favorite. Empanadas are pockets of fried dough filled with savory stuffing, traditionally a mix of ground beef, hard-boiled egg, olives and seasoning.
