The White House's six-year, $476 billion proposal to invest in transportation infrastructure would create jobs and spur economic growth, said Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. "One of the most important things is to finance much larger investment in infrastructure: roads, bridges, water pipelines," Geithner said. "It's good for employment ... because we know a lot of construction people are out of work."
