Industry continues to suffer from slow permitting pace, execs say

Oil and natural gas companies continue to feel the effects of sluggish permitting procedures in the aftermath of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and subsequent offshore-drilling moratorium, industry representatives said. "The permit slowdown has been devastating to our economy," said Jim Adams, the Offshore Marine Service Association's president and CEO. "Plans and permits must be approved in an efficient manner."
