U.K. banking group doesn't plan to cede oversight of Libor

Speculation is mounting that the Bank of England could gain oversight of the London Interbank Offered Rate from the British Bankers' Association. The BBA, which held a meeting this week to discuss Libor's future, said it is "committed to retaining the reputation and integrity of BBA Libor." International investigation into the rate's calculation is ongoing.
