Green building gathers momentum in Maryland

Green building is soaring in Maryland, with the number of LEED-certified projects jumping from just 36 in 2006 to 149 in 2007. Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley has proposed legislation that would require that all public-school and state-funded construction projects of a certain size be built to qualify for LEED silver certification.
