Letter: BPA regulation recommendations are unwarranted

The FDA's review and analysis of bisphenol A show that recommendations to regulate food containers are not warranted and are unnecessarily alarming, according to this letter from Steven G. Hentges of the American Chemistry Council. Hentges notes that Canada, Japan and Europe have come to similar conclusions and studies show that a person would have to consume more than 500 pounds of food and beverages in contact with materials made from BPA every day in a lifetime to surpass safe levels.
