New Jersey, Pennsylvania to receive $796M in stimulus funds for transit

The economic-stimulus package will provide $344 million for public transit to Pennsylvania and $452 million to New Jersey. "Investments in public transportation put people to work, but they also get people to work in a way that moves us towards our long term goals of energy security and a better quality of life," said Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. States have 180 days to allocate public transportation funds, or else the funds will be distributed elsewhere.
