Allegiant to serve Hawaii with fleet of Boeing 757s

As it prepares to expand its route network to Hawaii, Allegiant Air announced it will acquire six Boeing 757 aircraft from an unnamed European carrier. The company said it will spend up to $90 million to buy the planes and equip them for long over-water flights. The 757 purchase, which will be partially financed, marks a departure for the low-cost carrier, which operates a fleet of MD-80s acquired on a cash basis.
