Operators see strong potential in mobile health

Wireless carriers have ratcheted up their investments in the mobile health care sector as estimates on the market's global potential ranged from $50 billion to $60 billion in a new survey from management consultancy McKinsey & Co., which pegged the U.S. share at roughly $20 billion. McKinsey found mobile health services could reach much of the world's population with access to cell phones but not to quality and affordable medical care.
