Report may boost Calif. cities' legislative drives to ban single-use bags

A report that analyzed various studies regarding the environmental impact of single-use and reusable bags may help California cities push initiatives to ban carry-out plastic and paper bags. The analysis found that all single-use bags are "problematic," so the only resort "is to discourage the use of all single-use bags and encourage the use of reusable bags," said a coordinator for Green Cities California, the coalition which released the report.
